An ideal and uncrowded launching area has been located at Ban Kao. Directions are proceed South on ring road from the ferry passing Na Muang waterfall on the left and turn right onto road 4173. Continue straight crossing over road 4170 to Ban Kao restaurant (sign). This a sealed road all the way to the man made harbor.

It appears four yachts in IRC 1 Class will be racing with the new Orbital Anti Gravity Device (OAGD) in the 2013 KSR. Previously used by the first two placegetters in the recent Vendee Globe, Macif and Banque Populaire, this years KSR will be the first regatta to permit the device and at a latitude of 9 degrees, large weight savings can be expected and makes for some interesting mark roundings as these yachts are expected to catch up with the Racing Class. In the absence of the Juniors who are in Phuket at the Thailand Youth Games, a fun swim race will be staged at Tradewinds at 2pm on Thursday prior to the traditional BBQ. The course will be a Le Mans start and then a short sprint/swim around a designated anchored yacht. All yachts are invited to enter ONE runner and prizemoney of B5000 for the winner and B3000 and B1000 will be awarded for 2nd and 3rd (and hopefully ring the bell).
