However, sailing on the Sunsail 39…

Sawasdee 9th Samui regatta

Well here we are again at the start of the Sawasdee Samui Regatta. Now in its ninth year. it doesn't seem like it has been a year since I waved goodbye to the crews heading to Phuket after the 8th. Arriving this morning for the pre race meeting found the water like glass and not a breeze to be had. Great weather for the few tourist here but no good for a bunch of eager, race hungry sailors. Thankfully by the time it came for the off the wind had picked up and it looked like we were going to get… Continue

In koh Samui again!

We arrived in KS last Saturday,a very quick trip.

We departed Subic, early as to avoid any typhoon that occurs during this time.

Last year,we had 2-3 typhoon that hindered our scheduled departure from the Philippines. In order for us to not be affected by any typhoon that any time soon will occur,we left early,so that we dont miss the regatta(it happened to us twice before,'04 and 05).

Here are the top 5 ways you can get involved if you are not actually sailing.

5. Webcam. If you're not on the island or you are on the island but have to work (or are too lazy to leave the house), then every morning and afternoon you can watch the loading/unloading of the boats as the crews ready… Continue

Many thanks to Sawadee.com and IT Complex for setting this up for us.

You can now watch the yachts arrive even if you are stuck at your desk.

*CAUTION* This cam also carries audio from around Tradewinds and as such might not be suitable for children... ;-)

Crew Position Wanted

I am currently cruising Thailand and Malaysia on our Dehler 41DS 'Seventh Heaven' and would like to do some racing while here.
My racing resume is attached including many years racing our Dehler 39 'Dehler Magic' including the 2007 Sydney to Hobart.
I have many years experience yacht racing and can fill any position on the yacht required.
