Monthly Regatta – BACK ON!!

After a hiatus of way too many months a few of the active Samui sailors have decided to try and get the monthly FUN regattas back up and running. This has been prompted by the launching and arrival of a few new boats
on the island and the imminent running of the annual BIG event – the Sawadee.com
Samui Regatta.

The dates have been set as 22-23 May with the venue as Bang Rak (Big Buddha) bay. The regatta HQ will be the Elephant & Castle Pub, right next door to the Samui Yacht Club Junior Sailing School.

The format will be the usual passage race on Saturday with a couple of shorter races on the Sunday. A complementary BBQ will be held after racing on Saturday and on-board sandwiches, breakfasts, snacks and plenty of
cold beverages are available at very reasonable prices from the Pub.

The fees are reduced back down to the old time monthly regatta charges of THB 500 for the boat and skipper plus THB 100 per crew member or member or friends. Any surplus money left over after the event will be donated
to the Junior Sailing Club.

This will be the ideal way to warm up for the main Regatta and any boats arriving early are cordially invited to come and join in the fun at Bang Rak Bay and meet the island sailors.
